THE DAY I MADE COOKIES

i don't believe that they make us bake cookies for the fete.

i mean seriously, they'd like to have SOMEONE LIKE ME bake cookies to sell?? ahaha what a joke.

anyways, today - i was in jap ext, eating these lovely Corithians like wafer sticks which were VERY NICE, i was eating four in one go ehehe so delicious - belle would know ;) kept getting alice to steal her some..=( ahaha

and den lancy asks lowcock, what to do for bakesale, lowcock tells her a very clever recipe of making er..mars bar/some bar with rice bubbles - notice the reference (lowcock can't get enough fo me XD). LOL anyway, and with mars bars, melt it in a saucepan, den let it set in the fridge.

by the end of the lesson, i'd come up with the resolve to make some cookies - i mean, i had jap to memorise and english to prepare - but who cares, exams were over, i needed something to make me feel better..after being emo after 4U..

so i was walking with shaun down to the epping bus, and i was like hey shaun, you wanna help me bake cookies, and you can sleep over tonight - so you won't have to go back to the scary hole of turramurra and he's like. yes. go ask your dad and next thing we know,

we're @ eastwood, buying betty Crocker mixes and feeling very excited that we were baking COOKIES - ahaha my first step in becoming a wonderful and chick magnet of a PASTRY CHEF!!! ahaha

 got home - and started.

ALL READY TO MIX!!! =) hehe - i was excited beyond all um measure? ahaha

shaun was just rolling his eyes..wishing this day would end already ahah or that i would disappear =(

step 2: pour the mix into the bowls and shake them around so it's even and yes =)

step 3: you add milk and mix!!! ahaha

step 4: mix joyfully and happily whilst singing opera ahaha

step 5: add milk - BUT DON'T ADD TOO MUCH!!! shaun added a little bit - WHICH WAS CORRECT then we were both like - nah that's not enough, so we added like another 100 mLs more and we ended up with this slushy and sticky mix which was clearly going to end up in disaster. so..we walked down to westryde, taking abt 15 minutes- which felt like 5 minutes cos i was talkn to shaun about my future ambitions xD

shaun's guilty face after putting in too much milk into the mix XD

the new mix we made =) it was quite good. ahaha and i used my pro skills to knead the cookie mix like bread dough.

roll up the cookie mix into little balls.

these were my little turd-like balls ahaha very round and plump

Shaun : HOW MANY PHOTOS ARE YOU GONA TAKE?!!? *angry face*

Chris and Shaun the bakers to the rescue!! heh xD

now you'd expect it all the be a complete success and all the cookies were scrumptiously delicious with the chocolate simply melting in your mouth etc but no.

A LESSON FOR ALL:

WHEN IT SAYS BAKE FOR 12 MINUTES - BAKE FOR 12 MINUTES.

JUST COS IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S SOFT AND MUSHY, (shaun) DOESNT MEAN YOU SHOULD BAKE IT FOR 30 MINUTES UNTIL IT LOOKS HARD.

THE COOKIE WILL HARDEN BY ITSELF.

sigh**

half of our cookies turned out as hard as rocks. well almost all

we had a pile of SELLABLE and UNSELLABLE cookies, unsellable cookies would be donated to the ever bottomless pits of kelvin leung and ringo mok

and the sellable ones would be for the fete.

turns out the sellable ones were hard as rock as well

so welps, all goes to the fete.

my first baking experience was a LEARNING experience hehe

Special thanks goes to Shaun for being the awesomest assistant baker to the master chef Chris Au xD ahaha NAWT, we shall go to bed now =)

nighty night. =]

  1. I feel there's not enough volunteering for the fete. I have to do 4hours of selling drinks at the fete because there's no one willing to put in a few hours so that everyone will have a wonderful. Shame really that we all think that donating cake for the school is a chore when it's for improving the school.
