Home-made Sushi Dinner

is the GREATEST. =)

The process of choosing your own ingredients then rolling it up on the bamboo mat and then eating the entire roll just gives my tummy a warm feeling. Then, having the whole roll to yourself, without people stealing the good parts (like when you have soft shell crab sushi @ a sushi place and you only get the legs), is simply the greatest.

Today, I finally managed to get the shape right, without spilling any of the food or making a hole in my sushi roll. My sister would always laugh whenever I opened the rolled up bamboo mat, revealing my wonky sushi roll, where cucumber would poke out from the seaweed.

I was going to take a photo of it, but by the time i remembered, all the food was gone and there wasn't much left to take a photo of.

Ingredients:

sliced up strips of cucumber,
nicely cut sashimi
sliced up strips of sausage
some abalone and sea snails (packaged and marinated - you can get it @ asian stores)
lobster and crab meat (jokes XD)
Japanese Mayonaisse with a bit of Condensed milk. This makes an awesome kinda sauce with your rice as it's kinda sweet and it doesn't feel right without it. Try it ! ahah it's really good
RICE, almost forgot XD with a bit of white vinegar. Make sure you don't add too much in...otherwise your seaweed will be too wet and it'll be soggy.
rice seasoning (good stuff)

that's it really. you can really do your own ingredients. If you're rich and can afford to spend 300-400 dollars on shopping like Jason - you can get like rich sashimi, prawns, lobster, crab meat, tuna, swordfish sashimi. you name it. But the above is for the average poor cheap asian family with many hungry and big stomachs =D

Last but not least, I leave you all with a funny thing I found on somebody's blog.

Apparently it was meant to be some April Fools Day joke. (much funnier than Belle's May 5th joke =__=).

This made me think back to Charlie and  the Chocolate Factory where they had like four course meals all in one bubble gum strip.

Oh yes, a funny story to share with everybody especially for those who have been abused or bullied by Nathan. XD You've all heard about him getting diarrhoea from eating Sushi  - 5 for $4 or something at the ct. well this is better.

Setting: English in the library with Mayers and McIntosh

So Mayers comes over to our english table in the library with McIntosh and asks somebody for a USB. Shaun, being fast with his hands ;), whips his out of his pencil case and gives it to Mayers. Meanwhile, Nathan fiddles around in his wallet or something and pulls out a tiny, compact, small, and significantly more high tech USB compared to Shaun's massive MP3 player turned USB. In his enthusiasm, he shouts "Use Mine, Mine's better!" and McIntosh glances at his small USB, thinks for a second or two and says, "I can think of something really inappropriate to say right now"

XD
